And i still need at least $250 for Winston’s vet bill tomorrow for the (hopefully) last visit to test for cancer and make sure that he doesn’t have it.
I had planned to update yesterday, but alas things went wrong and that wasn’t possible.
Hello Lovely People This morning I woke to my service dog Winston having a a film through his eyes that turned his brown eyes foggy gray with only a little bit of brown to be seen. I took him to the vet to find out what is wrong. There was a series of tests done to rule out what could be wrong. The testing came back with two possibilities: the first is lymphoma, cancer in his lymph nodes; and the second is an extremely bad bacterial infection in the lymph nodes made worse by his allergies.
Today’s bill is $606 and I paid for it with my bank card, so I have 48 hours to cover it, or there will be overdraft fees. Here’s a copy of the bill for today and the receipt showing it is paid.
Rather then keep poking him with needles, after discussing it with the vet, we decided to treat the possible infection and allergies and make an appointment for when the antibiotics have run their course to check and see if it solved the problem and do a biopsy. The antibiotics for him were $48.

I also got me a small saw and hatch so my sister and I can rip out all the flowering bushes that have caused his allergies to flare up, in order to prevent this from happening again to the best of my ability. Here’s the receipt for that.
My goal is $1300. That covers today’s emergency visit to the vet, the antibiotics, the stuff to get rid of the plants, the check up and biopsy Thursday the 13th, gas money to get there, and the fees for processing.
My goal by Thursday the 6th is $654, as it covers today’s vet bill and getting the tools to make the dogs area safe for Winston since the allergies might have made him weak to illness.
My overall goal is $1300 by the Wednesday the 12th so I know I will be able to pay for his second visit, even if it ends up being as expensive as today.
Winston helps me with heavy mobility, making sure I do not fall since a car accident caused nerve damage in my right leg. He also helps me with memory issues since my last concussion, and dealing with my mental health.

Fees posted on the money I have (and accordingly don’t have) thankfully I did the math right so the numbers haven’t changed. I put my electric bill money into the pot, to keep it from being worse, but will still need to make it up, hence the not changing the goal.
Currently my account is -$35 and I seriously need to get to the point where I know I will be able to take Winston on Thursday for his biopsy to make sure it’s not cancer, and the antibiotics are actually working.
That means I need to hit at least $800 of the goal by Tuesday so it has time to process. Please keep sharing as it’s still at $250 of $1300.

A really good article about how the excessive focus on cleaning/surface transmission of COVID-19 has been vastly overemphasized to the detriment of preventing transmission from respiratory droplets/aerosols. In a similar way that a lot of the post-9/11 airport safety measures are 'security theatre' (i.e. they make us feel safer but don't actually make us safer), the overemphasized focus on deep cleaning/sanitizing surfaces has likely taken away from more effective measures to prevent COVID-19 from spreading, giving us 'prevention fatigue' from measure that don't even help much.
If you read the article, there's several sections explaining how rare it is for a surface to be contaminated to the point of infection risk, how in one scientist's research he came across one case that might, MIGHT have been transmitted by surface, and the article also explains that in the labs where they tested how long covid can live on surfaces they did so with an unrealistic concentration of covid, the equivalent of 100 people sneezing in exactly the same spot. Which is really unlikely. Basically, the article says you're extremely unlikely to get covid from a surface, and the real big risk is airborne transmission. We really don't have to leave our groceries for 3 days, deep clean daily, etc. Wash your hands, don't touch your face, wear your mask, stay home if you can. That's it.

so I decided that it would be the amino acid l-citrulline. this is a naturally occuring amino acid that DOES act on arousal in humans- both in creating physical changes (like directing bloodflow) and neurochemically (ie emotionally... though to a lesser effect than other neurochemicals involved in sex)

HOWEVER considering witchers aren't like trained to identify specific chemical scents, they wouldn't know either! "so how is this helpful" you're asking yourself!
L-citrulline is found in high quantities in watermelon. (the latin name for watermelon is where l-citrulline get's it's name!) So the witchers would smell arousal and smell watermelon and therefore associate the two with each other

Like, people who identify as Queer know the word is used like a slur. Trust me, we know.
So when we say “queer is a slur” was started by terfs, maybe use some critical thinking and try to understand what we mean. That is, if you actually care about queer people and the damage terfs do, rather that just screaming “queer is a slur!” and ignoring the actual point.
Terfs did not like that queer was reclaimed. End of. This is a fact. Queer was too broad, too accepting, and embraced all the people they wanted gone. And I know y'all exclusionists feel the same but get pissed when we point it out so you deny it, but sit down and listen for a minute.
Queer was the preferred term for poc. For bisexuals. For trans people. For people with multiple identities. It neatly encapsulated everything, and was a friendly community to those who felt thrown under the bus by mainstream LGBT activism. It was a political and social statement, “you treated my like I was different and weird, and guess what? I am and that’s something to be proud of.”
So the response? “You can’t use that word. Its bad. Its a slur.”
And at the time, a lot of people rolled their eyes. Everyone knew why they didn’t like the word and brushed that off. It was fine.
So they started more subtly. “Just so you know this word is very harmful and is a slur so be careful how you use it :))) in case you didn’t know :)))) its a slur :))) friendly reminder :))) for the sake of other people of course :))))” type shit on every post involving the word, including and especially posts simply mentioning self identification.
Always worded in friendly, concerned ways, like the derailment was meant to be nice and considerate, and not about normalizing their rhetoric.
And what happened because of that was a younger generation of community kids growing up with these statements being thrown at them and absorbed on every. Single. Post. That. Mentionioned. Queer.
The result? That same generation of kids cutting it all short, removing the meant-to-be-palatable niceness, to just say “queer is a slur.”
Exactly how it was originally intended. “Queer is a slur.” People drop on posts where young queer people talk about it being a self identifier that actually fits them. “Its a slur,” they comment, with nothing else, on posts they clearly didn’t read past that word, written by people twice their age who had reclaimed it before they were even born.
Its nasty. Its disgusting. It’s plain old bigotry, whether the people saying know it or not. It is a terf tactic, plain and simple.
And no one wants to deny that it is indeed used as a slur (right along with all the rest of our identities.) No one wants to be insensitive and force it on people who haven’t reclaimed it.
But invading queer people’s posts to spit “queer is a slur” is flat out queerphobic. You do the dirty work of terfs, of cis straight oppressors, by saying in one simple sentence: “its a dirty word, there is no pride in it, you haven’t/can’t reclaim(ed) it.”
And regardless of your actual intentions, when you do this, that is EXACTLY what you are communicating and doing.
“Queer is a slur” is a terf movement. Stop fucking supporting terfs just because you want to pretend like it isn’t.
